Interesting points you raise. And, of course, the elephant in the room is this - how active and interactive are these accounts. And, still on social media we are obsessed about number. How many subscribers do I have for my newsletter, how many followers do I have on my various social media accounts. What matters is how many people open your newsletter and how many people react to your postings? That like button on Facebook is a sham - tells you nothing.
